Cannabidiol is a popular natural remedy used for many common ailments.
CBD is one of 104 compounds that is commonly found in Cannabis Sativa. It can also be derived from hemp. Unlike THC, CBD is not psychoactive.
This makes CBD appealing to people who are looking for pain relief, or people struggling from anxiety, or fighting another illness and looking to gain the medical benefits.
CBD oil is made by extracting CBD from the cannabis plant, then diluting it with a carrier oil like coconut or hemp seed oil.
CBD is in the news a lot lately and is gaining a lot of traction in the wellness movements around the country. Here are some of the top benefits of CBD Oil.
CBD Oil for Anxiety
One of the best uses for CBD is anxiety relief. As someone who also struggles with anxiety I have personally found it very helpful. For people who struggle with anxiety it’s been said that CBD might be the best relief. The reason for that is the cannabinoids in CBD help not only relax the mind, but also the body, and central nervous system creating an ideal atmosphere for finding relief from situations that normally cause anxiety.

CBD Oil for Pain Relief
The American opiate crisis reveals something very alarming. American’s are suffering from chronic pain more than ever before. A lot of this has to do with American dietary and exercise habits, and our lifestyles. CBD Oil is a great alternative to the very dangerous opiate drugs that big pharma offers.
CBD Oil for Acne Reduction
What’s clear from numerous studies is that CBD oil functions as an anti-inflammatory. So how does that translate to skin care? One way is its ability to help calm skin, particularly skin that’s acne-prone. Because acne is an inflammatory condition, research indicates CBD’s soothing properties can help diminish breakouts and reduce redness. Surprisingly, recent findings also show that CBD has the potential to decrease excessive sebum (oil) production, as well as help offset other triggers of acne.
CBD Oil for Heart Disease
While there are a fairly small (from a scientific perspective) number of studies available on the specifics of how CBD acts on the cardiovascular system, there’s a lot to unpack within them. We’ll be focusing on a study conducted in 2013, which found several phytocannabinoids (including CBD) to be effective in inducing vasorelaxation, or relaxing the tissues of blood vessels to increase their diameter, thereby improving blood circulation. CBD was also found to act as an agonist (a compound that boosts the effects of a different compound in the body) for a compound called PPARγ, which helps clear blockages in the arteries and reduces blood pressure.
This means that CBD acts on the cardiovascular system in (at least) two ways: it relaxes the blood vessels themselves, and it helps boost the activity of compounds that reduce blood pressure and gradually clear blockages. There are also other studies, performed on both humans and rats, that show CBD to produce vasorelaxation through a receptor located in the endothelium (the inner layer of cells lining your blood vessels). The full discussion gets a little complicated here, but the main point is that researchers found evidence that CBD acts on a receptor in the endothelium to help relax and expand blood vessels. While that receptor has yet to be specifically discovered, scientists have shown us where we should be looking, so researchers are getting warmer!
The anxiolytic (anti-anxiety) effects of CBD can also benefit cardiovascular health by decreasing cardiac response to stress, reducing the likelihood of a sudden cardiac event, like a heart attack. CBD can help regulate an irregular heartbeat, further reducing your risk of heart attack—especially if you’ve been diagnosed with an arrhythmia. These studies suggest that CBD has a regulatory effect on heart rate, and it does not appear to raise heart rate
CBD Oil for Diabetes
Insulin resistance occurs when the body’s cells reject insulin, which is produced by the pancreas to regulate blood sugar. When the cells reject insulin, they cannot absorb glucose (sugar), which is needed for energy. This causes glucose to build up in the bloodstream and lead to high blood sugar levels.
Insulin resistance is a key factor in prediabetes and type 2 diabetes.
Researchers aren’t totally sure how CBD works to treat insulin resistance. But, many believe that credit belongs to CBD’s powerful anti-inflammatory benefits.
Many studies have a shown a connection between chronic inflammation and insulin resistance.
When inflammation is reduced, the immune system and cardiovascular system function better. A lack of inflammation can also improve cell growth and improve sugar metabolism.
If all of these systems throughout the body are working as efficiently as possible, the chances of developing insulin resistance and diabetes are decreased.
