Our company was founded in 1956 and is based on the Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Our company became the nation's first Climate NeutralTM - certified enterprise in 2000 and 2001. Taking the lead in the industry as early as 1973, our company is a founding member of the Council for Responsible Nutrition, a trade association of manufacturing suppliers and distributors of dietary supplements. Our company has invested over $125 million in research and development to continue to achieve product superiority. New nutritional product concepts are evaluated by independent research scientists from such prestigious institutions as Scripps Clinic, the University of California at the San Diego, Tufts University, Stanford University, and the University of Texas. In the past decade alone, more than 90 company-sponsored and peer-reviewed research papers have been published in major medical and nutritional scientific periodicals throughout the world, such as The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition and The Journal of Applied Physiology. As a member of the advisory board to the U.S. Pharmacopoeia (USP), a non-governmental organization that ensures the quality of medicines and other health care technologies that promote public health, our company helped develop the stringent USP standards for dietary supplements. In addition, our product developers remain in constant communication with our company's Scientific Advisory Board - a prestigious group of men and women from leading universities and medical institutions across the country.
